Food excellent, place charming staff lovely. Now our favourite place.
Been to the Lamplight for lunch today, 1st Feb. Normally a good meal. However disappointing Had soup which was fine but the main course left a lot to be desired. Very small portions and the few potatoes were green. Not appetising!
Brilliant staff, nice atmosphere, prices more than Wetherspoons but it's worth it to be treated as more than as just a number. Thanks you were exceptionally.
We had a wonderful time. It was our son's wedding day. The food was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will go there again, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.
A really good findJust happened to walk past and glance at the menu in the window and thought "That sounds quite nice and prices look pretty reasonable too".Way better than I'd hoped. Service was great, staff were friendly and the food was excellent. They operate a fixed price menu based on number of courses. The steak comes out quite pricey (12 surcharge) and the duck has a 4 surcharge.I ordered a mushroom and bacon ramekin starter which was absolutely beautiful. We then both had duck which likewise was excellent. A main each, two large glasses of wine and a starter came to a very reasonable shade over 50. Given the quality of the food it was very much worth the money. We'll be going back for sure (but not for the steak).
