Very quiet location, on site bar and shop a bonus with very good showers etc. Site is to be redeveloped soon and may or may not include touring pitches so you need to check in the future what facilities will be available.

Lovely place to stay in a beautiful area. Everything was nice and clean and well set out.My only downside ( and it may be a bit picky ) was that neither the bar or cafe served food. The staff however pointed us in the right direction for places that served excellent food.We would definitely recommend here for a visit.

There is a nice pub on the site (just drinks) in an old stone building with old wooden beams. This is the same building that has the reception and a small cafe where you can get coffee. We stayed in "The Shire" area which was up a gravel track. Parking was poor here and the tent pitches were but ideal. You cannot park your car next to your tent as in other areas because the pitches are up grassy embankments. The toilet and shower block here is small and just adequate but not very clean. Not great to have to take a shower right directly next to toilet cubicles. Instead, I made the 5 minute walk to the bigger toilet/shower block which was also just adequate. The site is located right next to the Tissington Trail which is a cycle and foot path on an old railway line. It's possible to access by going under the nearby railway bridge and up onto the raised path. Otherwise, go to nearby parking areas such for level access (and toilets or refreshments).

Second visit to Rivendale Holiday Park. The site is situated in a old quarry, the pitches are all different shapes and sizes. Our pitch was quite long but was a bit tight with the awning, our other awning would have been to big for the pitch. The toilet block could do with be updated as shower doors looking tatty at the bottom. If you like walking or cycling it's a ideal location as you have the Tissington Trail just out side the entrance. We will visit this site again.

Hired a "camping pod". Very clean, enough space for an inflatable bed, and had a small, but effective heater, and a small lamp. Toilets/showers were clean and well looked after. The only drawback was that the bar was only open for a few hours, and they weren't serving food. Would think that they'd make more money and attract more people by providing everything on site. There again, if you're camping, that might not be needed. There is a pub around two miles up the road, that does reasonable food, so that's what we did. The surroundings would have been stunning, but unfortunately there was heavy fog, so we missed out on that.Would stay again, and I highly recommend the "pods"
