A great place for families who enjoy the out doors. I enjoy walking on the marked routes which have great views of Carsington water. It is also a great place to watch the various birds on the water.The visitors centre has an interesting exhibition on the story of Carsington.There are several shops selling things about nature. There is also a shop that sells good quality clothing.Upstairs there is the Main Sail restaurant where you can enjoy an excellent meal while admiring the great views of Carsington water.
A nice place to while away a few hours. We had a nice walk around part of lake, some decent snacks from one of the food places there and the kids park is pretty good!
Lovely little place to sit and enjoy an ice cream or sit out on the grass for a barbecue. Great family atmosphere. Cute little shops
A really lovely area for walking with an excellent visitors center with restaurant/cafe serving good quality, hot food and drink as well as a pet store, outdoor goods store and other items. There's a really nice play area for children as well as a large recreational field. The reservoir walks are flat, well paved, and easy to walk. Scattered around are various interesting things to look at, so the walk doesn't get dull.A very enjoyable day out.
Brilliant place for a day out with the kids. We cycled the whole way around the reservoir, which was hard work and quite hilly in places, but really good fun, very nice ride. The kids' playground is excellent, with stuff for younger and older kids. The cafe was decent, and there was a tap to fill up water bottles for cycling. Loads of parking, it was 5 for the whole day which isn't too bad. All in all a wonderful day out.
