Good rooms, lovely food in the restaurant last visit, more normal food in the bar, good walking / hiking base though quite popular so a bit busy if you prefer a more solitary walk.

A quaint hotel on the doorstep of Dovedale and next to Thorp Cloud. Hotel rooms are lovely, warm and clean. Excellent service from all the staff. Highly recommended for quiet weekend away!
After a drive through the peak district, I really enjoyed pulling up and checking into this place. I wish I had stayed long enough to explore more of the surrounding countryside. Great staff too - good with kids.
