This place seems to have new owners and the difference is subtle at first, but as our evening progressed it was clear that some of the lovely touches we used to enjoy have disappeared. Food was really disappointing, although the staff were pleasant. Sad to say that after 5 years of going for my birthday, I wouldn't visit again
A beautiful location in the peaceful outskirts of Ashbourne. We had afternoon tea which was bought as a gift, Andrea had been very accommodating and helpful in arranging our booking. The Hotel is beautiful inside, very cosy and intimate, the kind of setting where you could just while away the day in front of an open fire in a comfy chair.The afternoon tea was lovely, but what really made the afternoon were the staff, from start to finish you made to feel incredibly welcome.Keeley and Courtney were just brilliant and really helped make our afternoon very special, especially as we had our 11 month old boy with us.The staff should be commended on presenting the hotel in such a superb manner and I would highly recommend anyone to visit Callow Hall.
Its got a unique characteristics which only adds to the enjoyable hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly. The Manager is wonderful, and her enthusiasm is carried by her staff.
We came here for Sunday lunch whilst away for the weekend, the food was delicious but the service and waitresses were second to none. Jessica especially, was so attentive, asked us if we were there for a special occasion, which we had just got engaged the day before, after being very excited for us she then came back with glasses of champagne on the house. Very unexpected and a pleasant shock. They couldn't do enough to make our afternoon better than we could of imagined, it was like we were with our friends and family. We spent a wonderful night at the Callow Hall Hotel in May 2018. As were the only ones staying at the time (they had just had a wedding finish which had taken the whole hotel over), we had the place to ourselves and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or attentive. We were upgraded to a Four poster Bedroom over looking the grounds. The room and the bathroom could do with some TLC, but this didn't detract from the beautiful, peaceful surroundings. We ate at the hotel on the night we stayed and the food was amazing, made even better by being able to sit in the bay window over looking the gorgeous English countryside. I would absolutely recommend a stay here, we will definitely go back!
