A beautiful seasonally site.always beautifully kept clean & that's down to paul & sue (manager's) James & John.its a quiet friendly caravan park with new toilet & shower block.the park is not far from all the main attractions also Sue & Paul manager's are always so helpful, you could not go to a better caravan park, would highly recommend regards June and Dennis
Great place , enjoyed our catch up with the gang this weekend. Facilities on site were clean and well kept , having a swimming pool was a welcome extra . Thought the rally room was an excellent idea & really warm on a very wet Saturday night, we appreciate that room
The facilities for children look great, the play area particularly, and I'm sure the pool is nice (although we didn't use it).The toilet block for the camping field close to reception however is very dated, has only 2 toilets for the men and I decided to forgo a shower for the weekend. It's not that it's not clean, but the shower block facilities are limited and dated IMO.Given the price, 30/night, I was expecting a much larger and more modern toilet block.
Arrived at site and booked in. Found pitch on a steep incline and recently dug trench which has been left with rocks on the surface so tents had to further forward than pitch and it was all the way through the pitch row so not a good start. Car had to be parked beside tent on trench so car sunk in trench and got stuck in good weather. We went to book swimming pool for following day to get told that it was closed the day we wanted as there was no lifeguard although the swimming pool signs did state there was no lifeguard on duty so not sure what happened there. Although the showers were relatively clean on appearance they really need a deep clean more frequently than they get. ( shower gel bottle fell in water drain for shower and when I got it out my fingers were black and slimy). The showers in the tissington square all had different heads and a couple of them were broke so the water sprays everywhere although the temperature was consistent. An upgrade on the hand drying is required and there was no hair dryers in the showers. We were only staying 3 nights but if it had been longer I would never of pitched where we got put. The campsite seemed the wrong way round as the lodges and touring caravans had lovely flat green fields yet the tents had a sloping and uneven field. The grass cutter perfectly cutting around our tent on the second day wasn't needed or appreciated as we were only there 3 nights. We then had wet cut grass getting dragged in the tent. The playground was big and the kids enjoyed that. I can see why other people have reviewed so highly and I would have as well but first impressions are everything to a business and if the first impressions aren't good you only see the negatives in everything. So maybe a little bit of effort put into the trench may have been the difference between a 5 and a 2.
Very nice campsite, good play area and cracking pool. Friendly staff but could just do with a couple more showers with possibly a little more to make it easier to shower little ones! Only a very very minor gripe though as it is all about camping+
