Great place, nearest pub we found after doing a 4 hour walk around dovedale. It's a done up modern place, that excludes the local crowd you get in some small villages. Visited late on Sunday and they still served food - amazing burgers. There was a great beer selection of peach beer for the Mrs and wheat beer for myself. And the ice cream sundaes were to die for. Definitely worth a visit - we will be back!
Came here with two children for evening dinner. Burgers were great and so was the scampi and chips that the children had. Friendly staff and really nice pub inside.
Now that's a good pub! Good food, good atmosphere, good background music, clean toilets. Probably the best pub I've been in
We called in for lunch after walking at Dovedale. Lovely location, good car park . The pub itself is unfortunately an odd shape, a long corridor like set up. The real fire at each end was a wonderful feature but slightly lost in the sea of customers rammed in. Where ever you sat you were in the walkway, with people pushing past, not very relaxing. The food itself was fantastic, really tasty and well presented , the staff too were polite and friendly. The lighting was atmospheric, candles everywhere, but not great for seeing your food. A nice pub in a great place but ruined by the layout, people shoving your back to get passed while you eat is not good.
Excellent burgers, fries and dessert. Staff were exceptionally friendly. Really nice atmosphere. Loved the old style of the building, especially the stone wall bar. Rhubarb cider was amazing. Definitely coming back next time I'm back in this part of the Peaks.
