Carsington WaterWalked the Carsington circuit from here 8.5 miles only 705 feet of ascent. New year's day walk with members of St Helens Church. Lunch at the visitors centre, a welcome pint with our sandwichs. Good day a little cold after 2:30 pm. Great place for a winter walk

Car Park to south of Carsington Water with a toilet block, a small shop and wooden carvings. There are great views and walks so its ideal if you don't want all the facilities of the main visitor centre. (Parking is 2.50 which is cheaper than the main centre if staying over 2 hours. It is 4.70 for the day there.)
Only passed through on a Sunday walk so the visitor centre was closed, but seems a nice spot to stop for a while with views of the reservoir. Also a good starting point for walks along the shore path. Plenty of spaces including disabled, bins and picnic benches.
A great shopping of point if the main Visitor Centre car park is busy, or if you simply don't need the facilities there. This has a nice picnic area, a small shop and toilets.
